This year many families are facing a lot of uncertainty with back to school with concerns ranging from getting used to new school routines and in-person interactions with teachers and peers. Our benefits partners want to provide as much support as possible during this time to help you and your families cope with the fear and anxiety associated with going back to school.
Below is a list of free resources for parents and families to access:
- The Working Parent provides monthly information and strategies to support the psychological health of working parents and their children. This month’s feature is all about helping your children develop resiliency.
- This Post-Secondary Student Resilience article addresses the anxiety and stressors of students beginning college or university.
- eMentalHealth.com provides anonymous, confidential and trustworthy information all year round. Check out their Back to School under COVID tip sheet.
- Kids Help Phone is a national charity that operates three counselling centres and offers community engagement initiatives through staff and volunteers across Canada. Right now they have a huge number of resources about going back to school and taking care of yourself during the pandemic.
